Vassouras é uma cidade do interior do Rio de Janeiro, criada em 1833 que já ostentou o título de maior produtora de café do mundo sendo reconhecida como "Princesinha do Café".

Museu Casa da Hera

Sua construção é datada de meados do século XIX, período em que nela viveu a família de Joaquim José Teixeira Leite, um dos personagens mais importantes da história do Ciclo do Café no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. O Museu é um retrato histórico de como viviam os Senhores de Café no Brasil. Hoje é administrado pela Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN/MinC).

 Fazenda do Secretário

A Fazenda do Secretário está localizada em Vassouras, a 45 minutos do hotel Fazenda Galo Vermelho. O majestoso casarão construído em 1830 em estilo neoclássico, foi um dos mais requintados palacetes do século XIX da região. Possui mobiliário francês e belíssimos jardins ornamentados por estátuas de bronze. Um programa de visitação guiada especialmente desenhado para quem deseja vivenciar os requintes dos áureos tempos do café. Número mínimo de 12 adultos para visitação

Ruins Park (Parque das Ruínas)

Primitive Cottage, the home of Joaquim Murtinho Nobre, was reformed in the 30s, receiving features of colonial architecture. The death of Laurinda Santos Lobo in 1946 without any heirs, the abandonment of the palace gave way to the ruins.

Museu Nacional de Belas Artes

The Belas Artes National Museum began his career in 1808 with the collection of art brought by D. João VI of Portugal, his collection was expanded a few years later with the collection brought by Joachim Lebreton, forming the most important art gallery in the country, this core was enriched with important developments throughout the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. National History Museum

Created in August 1922, by decree of the President Pessoa, the National Museum starts its activities in October of the same year, integrating the Centennial exhibition, with two rooms on House Train.
Currently has an excellent permanent exhibition which includes several sets of works
Oretana, Portuguese in the World 1415-1822, Building the Nation 1822-1889, City Construction in 1889 among others, but I like most is to count the coins history

With about 3,000 coins, which tell the story of man in the world from these objects, true sources of information about the people who used them, providing an, economic, political historical, social and cultural.

CCBB - Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil

Cultural space with several rooms divided in cinemas, theater, presentation of shows, educational programs and visual arts icons such as Salvador Dali.

Ludwig collection 

The exhibition features 70 works of Ludwig Collection, headquartered in the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
the show has other artists including Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and other great artists.

Navy Museum

The Naval Museum features permanent exhibition "The Naval power in the Formation of Brazil" occupying seven rooms on the ground floor, many important objects are part of the acquis, naval models, abras art, cannons rescued from sunken ships, figureheads, medals.
A few meters ahead you will find the Riachuelo Submarine Museum.

Undersea Museum Riachuelo

Built in 1973, in England, the Riachuelo Submarine was launched on September 6, 1975, and incorporated into the Brazilian Navy on January 27, 1977, after twenty years of operation, was disembodied from active duty armed, his show disarmament was held on November 12, 1977, being reclassified as a submarine museum, becoming exposed to visitation.

Ilha Fiscal

Transferred to the Navy by the Ministério da Fazenda in 1914, the island is now part of the Documentation Service of the Navy Cultural Complex. In the castle, open to visitors, we highlight the Turret and the Ceremonial Wing. three permanent exhibitions are also attractions in the little castle.
Access to Fiscal Island is usually done by the schooner Nogueira da Gama. When the schooner is under maintenance or in case of bad weather, the access is by minibus.

São Cristóvão's Fair or Nordestinas's Fair began in 1945 in this season _ Northeastern migrants arrived to Camp São Cristóvão on trucks coming to work in civil constructions. A lively party with lots of music and typical food, was taken to receive relatives and friends, giving rise to fair.
In 2003 the renovation of the old pavilion becoming the Municipal Center Luiz Gonzaga Northeastern Traditions occurred. The site today has venues for concerts, lots of food, drink and typical products of the northeastern region.

Quinta da Boa Vista

The zoo of Rio de Janeiro is the oldest in Brazil it has more than 60 years, the former residence of the Portuguese royal family. Walking along its boulevards lined with royal palms is like entering the pages of a book of images and stories of emperors, princesses, slaves and all sorts of common people that paved the way to build, through us what we are.

Nacional Museum UFRJ


Originally called the Royal Museum, was incorporated into the University of Brazil in 1946. Currently the museum is part of the academic structure of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The museum features some collections, which are of archaeological, ethnology, paleontology etc ... worth a premier museum after visiting the zoo and ending the afternoon in the gardens near the lake, or even ride a paddleboat.
