Conheça Manaus.

Manaus a city in the middle of the Amazon rainforest surrounded by lush forest and islanded by mighty rivers.
From one side the Solimões River with its reddish color and on the other the Rio Negro, not talking much, its name says it all. The meeting of these waters can be seen from Lookout Embratel. The place deserves a stop for a few minutes to contemplate its exceptional nature. If you want to look more closely at the meeting of the rivers, there are boat trips that take you to this meeting. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to visit some of the local flora and fauna. You can also have contact with snakes, sloths, alligators, take pictures of victories Regias and go a mangrove.
Manaus also has other charms that must be visited: Teatro Amazonas, the Provincial Palace, the Municipal Market and other attractions.

I was not the Parintins, but I saw the test in Bumbódromo Manaus (on a previous trip) with all that energy Red, Guaranteed Ox, and Blue, Capricious Ox, the folk festival with the dispute between the "Oxes" (similar the samba schools of Rio's Carnival), fantastic !!

We started our visit at:

Largo São Sebastião.

Largo São Sebastião is located in the vicinity of the Teatro Amazonas, being surrounded by many historical buildings, which include the Palace of Justice and the Church of San Sebastian. In the square of the center is the Monument Openings Ports, a tribute dated the end of the century 19.

Of marble, has at the top a female figure representing the Amazon being courted by Hermes Greek god of trade.The square of the pavement is in black and white waves of drawings made with Portuguese stone, is the word that is the union of the Negro and Solimões rivers.
Curiosity: some say the Copacabana sidewalk was inspired by the Largo de São Sebastião.

Amazonas Theater

The theater, founded in 1896, is the highest expression of the richness of rubber. With a single architecture, the dome came from Paris, consisting of 36 000 scales, with the colors of the Brazilian flag. Glazed tiles are from Alsace, France.

Palace of Justice

Centennial work of Renaissance style, the building is protected by a thick wall with balustrade. His style was inspired by the architecture of the 2nd Empire French and English neoclassicism, demonstrating the wealth of the golden age of the rubber economy. It was completed in the early twentieth century to house the judiciary, was inaugurated on April 21, 1900 in the government of Colonel José Cardoso Ramalho Junior, with the President of the Court, the Judge Cezar do Rego Monteiro. The building is one of the leading examples of classical architecture. Was listed as a state historic site in 1980 and, over the years has undergone several works of conservation and restoration, especially the one held in 2001/02, and opened as Cultural Center Palace of Justice in June 2006, thus deserving special care and attention especially in parts of those who use it.

Provincial Palace

The Provincial Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Manaus. The first news that has the building date of 1867. It was occupied by different authorities being today as under the State Art Gallery, the Museum of Image and Sound, Numismatic, Archaeology and Tiradentes.
Numismatics has in its largest collection, this tells the story of the evolution of people over the centuries, is well worth the visit and listen to the explanation of the guides.

Provincial Palace

The numismatic museum was what caught my attention. The story behind the coins and medals is fascinating, shame that can not take pictures and no souvenirs for sale. There is not a brochure or catalog of parts that you can handle, or the main, on display, but even so I was pleased with the knowledge of the guide presented the acquis.

Municipal Market Adolpho Lisboa

Built facing the Rio Negro, in the golden age of rubber, in Art Nouveau style, with 5 thousand square meters, was officially opened in 1882. In the market for handmade products such as sculptures, paintings, baskets made by the Indians, in addition to the famous potions, among other things, that tell a little of the history of the Amazon.

Cultural Center of People of Amazon

Opened in 2007, the complex brings together in one space, information, education, entertainment and research on populations of the Western Amazon, in order to spread the culture and knowledge of the population of Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, in addition to having a space for research, education and entertainment totally dedicated to the Amazon and its inhabitants.

Amazon Arena

Architecture inspired by the Amazon rainforest that surrounds the city of Manaus. The Amazon Arena has a capacity of 44,500 fans and has cabins, lifts, accessibility for people with special needs and restaurant.
Located on the main avenue of the city next to the Sambadrome of Manaus, next to the new Amazon Convention Center and Arena Amadeu Teixeira Poliesportiva. The area is close to hotels, hospitals, banks, shopping malls, supermarkets and restaurants, at a distance of 6 km from the historic town center and the Black River waterfront.

Meeting of the waters 

The meeting of the waters between the Solimões rivers, reddish waters, and the Rio Negro, dark waters, calls attention and thereby attract tourists around the world. The waters run about six miles without mixing, creating a phenomenon of rare beauty. This is due to the difference in temperature and density of the water. The Black River is warmer, around six degrees, than the Solimões.

The output of the tour is in the Port of Ceasa. Our driver was Frank SoliNegro tourism cooperative. This tour is average duration three hours, if the season is full you can go through some streams.

The boatman makes a stop a few meters before the meeting of the waters and asks you to feel the temperature of the rivers and then the other so you can see the difference in temperature, with the hottest Black that Solimões. On the way, if you're lucky, you can meet some dolphins. I saw some dolphins quickly, there was no time to take pictures.

Following a little Negro River was held the next stop, now to feed the arapaima and feel his strength. It was worth!

Continuing the tour we saw some animals in the region. What caught my attention was the laziness, but there are alligators and snakes.

Continuing by boat a little further there is the Ecological Park Janauari. Here the tour is conducted on foot. The site has a restaurant with typical food, and craft, but before stopping suggest follow a bit more and visit this area in the back.

The path between the Janauarilandia to the location where the water lilies, is wood and is more than three meters above the ground because at the time of full the place is flooded.

The samauma tree is a forest icon. The photo is in the right side shows the time when the area was flooded and the left side in the dry season. The difference in water level can get easy, easy to three meters.

Arriving at the lookout you can enjoy the flower of the Amazon, Vitoria Regia, hiding a pequemo alligator.

At the end of the day we've been leading, on our behalf, to the viewpoint of Embratel to glimpse once again the meeting of the waters. A sad to see that the site is abandoned after it was listed. The grass is high, taking the place.

The airport is a major tourist gateway, so I will indicate three options to get around the city.

1- Taxi
Going to the airport until the city normally paid is R$ 80.00

2- Special Bus
This leaves the airport and passes in the main hotels in the city costs costs R$ 20.00 per person.

3- Line bus
Who does this airport exit path are the lines of paragraph 306 and 59, stay tuned to the end, because the bus go in different directions. The link describes the route of each line, the cost of the ticket is R$ 2,75.por person.

Pontos Turísticos de Manaus

Conheça Manaus.

Manaus uma cidade no meio da Floresta Amazônica cercada por uma exuberante mata e ilhada por imensos rios.
De um lado o Rio Solimões com sua cor meio avermelhada e, do outro o Rio Negro, sem falar muito seu nome já diz tudo. O encontro dessas águas pode ser visto do Mirante da Embratel. O local merece  uma parada por alguns minutos para contemplar sua excepcional natureza. Caso você queira ver mais de perto o encontro dos rios, há passeios de barco, que te levam para esse encontro. Alem disso você terá a oportunidade de conhecer também um pouco da flora e fauna local. Poderá ter ainda contato com cobras, preguiças, jacarés, tirar fotos de vitorias regias e percorrer um mangue.
Manaus tem também outros encantos que devem ser visitados: o Teatro Amazonas, o Palacete Provincial, o Mercado Municipal entre outros pontos turísticos.
Deixarei para o próximo post a festa do Boi, inesquecível! Eu não fui a Parintins, mas vi o ensaio no Bumbódromo de Manaus (em uma viagem anterior) com toda aquela energia do Vermelho, Boi Garantido, e do Azul, Boi Caprichoso, do festival folclórico com a disputa entre os "Bois " (similar as escolas de sambas do carnaval carioca), fantástico !!

Começamos nossa visita pelo:

Largo São Sebastião.

O Largo de São Sebastião está localizado no entorno do Teatro Amazonas, sendo rodeado por diversos prédios históricos, entre eles estão o Palácio da Justiça e a Igreja de São Sebastião. No centro do largo encontra-se o Monumento de Aberturas dos Portos, uma homenagem datada do final do seculo 19.

Construída em mármore, possui no topo uma figura feminina que representa a Amazônia sendo cortejada por Hermes deus grego do comercio.
O calçamento da praça tem desenhos de ondas em preto e branco feito com pedras portuguesas, é a menção que se faz a união dos rios Negro e Solimões.
Curiosidade:alguns dizem que a calçada de Copacabana foi inspirada no Largo de São Sebastião.

Teatro Amazonas

O teatro, inaugurado em 1896, é a maior expressão da riqueza da borracha. Com uma arquitetura única, a cúpula veio de Paris, composta por 36 mil escamas, com as cores da bandeira Brasileira. As telhas vitrificadas são oriundas da Alsácia, na França

Palácio da Justiça

Obra centenária de estilo renascentista, a edificação é protegida por um muro espesso com balaustrada. Seu estilo foi inspirado na arquitetura do 2° Império Frances e do neoclassicismo inglês, demonstrando a riqueza do período áureo da economia da borracha. Foi concluída no início do Século XX para abrigar o Poder Judiciário, sua inauguração foi em 21 de abril de 1900 no governo do Coronel José Cardoso Ramalho Júnior, tendo como presidente do Tribunal, o Desembargador Cézar do Rego Monteiro. O prédio é um dos principais exemplares da arquitetura clássica. Foi tombado como patrimônio histórico estadual em 1980 e, ao longo dos anos passou por várias obras de conservação e restauração, especialmente a realizada em 2001/02, sendo inaugurado como Centro Cultural Palácio da Justiça em junho de 2006, portanto merecendo cuidados específicos e atenção especial por partes daqueles que o utilizam.

Palacete Provincial

O Palacete Provincial é uma das mais antigas construções de Manaus. A primeira notícia que se tem do prédio data de 1867. Foi ocupado por diferentes órgãos estando hoje como abrigo da Pinacoteca do Estado, Museu de Imagem e do Som, de Numismática, de Arqueologia e de Tiradentes.
Tem na Numismática o seu maior acervo, este conta a historia da evolução dos povos ao longo dos séculos, vale muito a pena a visita e escutar a explicação dos guias.

Palacete Provincial

O museu de numismática foi o que me chamou mais a atenção. A historia por trás das moedas e medalhas é fascinante, pena que não pode tirar fotos e não há souvenirs à venda. Não há um folheto ou catalogo das peças que se possa manusear, nem das principais, em exposição, mas mesmo assim fiquei satisfeito com o conhecimento da guia que fez a apresentação do acervo.

Mercado Municipal Adolpho Lisboa

Construído de frente para o Rio Negro, no período áureo da borracha, em estilo Art Noveau, com 5 mil metros quadrados, foi oficialmente inaugurado em 1882. No mercado há produtos artesanais, como esculturas, pinturas, cestas feitas pelos indígenas, além das famosas garrafadas, entre outras coisas, que contam um pouco da historia da Amazônia.

Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia

Inaugurado em 2007, O complexo reúne em um só espaço, informação, educação, entretenimento e pesquisa sobre as populações da Amazônia Ocidental, com objetivo de difundir a cultura e o conhecimento das populações do Brasil, Bolívia, Colômbia, Equador, Guiana, Peru, Suriname e Venezuela, além de contar com um espaço de pesquisa, educação e entretenimento totalmente dedicado à Amazônia e seus habitantes.

Arena da Amazônia

Arquitetura inspirada na floresta amazônica que rodeia a cidade de Manaus. A Arena da Amazônia tem capacidade para 44,5 mil torcedores e conta com camarotes, elevadores, acessibilidade para portadores de necessidades especiais e restaurante.
Localizada na principal avenida da cidade ao lado do Sambódromo de Manaus, do novo Centro de Convenções do Amazonas e da Arena Poliesportiva Amadeu Teixeira. A área está próxima de hotéis, hospitais, bancos, shopping centers, supermercados e restaurantes, a uma distância de aproximadamente 6 km do centro histórico da cidade e da orla do Rio Negro.

Encontro das Águas 

O encontro das águas entre os rios Solimões, de águas avermelhadas, e o Negro, de águas escuras, chama a atenção e com isso atraem turistas do mundo inteiro. As águas percorrem aproximadamente seis quilômetros sem se misturar, criando um fenômeno de rara beleza. Isso se dá pela diferença de temperatura e densidade das águas, sendo o rio Negro mais quente, em torno de seis graus, que o Solimões.

A saída do passeio é no Porto da Ceasa. Nosso condutor foi o Frank da cooperativa de turismo SoliNegro. Este passeio tem duração media três horas, se a época for de cheia você pode passar por alguns igarapés.

O barqueiro faz uma parada alguns metros antes do encontro das águas e pede para você sentir a temperatura de um dos rios e depois do outro assim você pode constatar a diferença de temperatura, sendo o Negro mais quente que Solimões. No caminho, se você der sorte, pode encontrar com alguns botos. Eu vi uns botos rapidamente, não houve tempo para tirar fotos.

Seguindo um pouco pelo rio Negro foi realizada uma nova parada, agora para alimentar o pirarucu e sentir sua força. Valeu a pena!

Continuando o passeio vimos alguns animais da região. O que mais me chamou a atenção foi a preguiça, mas há também jacarés e cobras.

Se você tiver coragem poderá tirar fotos com uma cobra enrolada no pescoço.

Seguindo de barco, um pouco adiante há o Parque Ecológico Janauari. Aqui o passeio é realizado a pé. O local tem restaurante com comidas tipicas e muito artesanato, mas antes de parar sugiro seguir um pouco mais e visitar essa área na volta.

O caminho entre a Janauarilandia até o local onde estão as Vitorias-Regias, é de madeira e está a mais de três metros do solo porque na época de cheia o local fica alagado.

A árvore samaúma é um ícone da floresta. A foto que esta no lado direita mostra a época em que a área estava alagada e a do lado esquerdo na época da seca. A diferença no nível da água pode chegar fácil, fácil a três metros.

Chegando no mirante você poderá apreciar a flor da Amazônia, Vitoria-Regia, escondendo um pequemo jacaré.

No fim do dia nos direcionamos, por nossa conta, para o mirante da Embratel para vislumbrar mais uma vez o encontro das águas. Uma tristeza ver que o local está abandonado depois que foi tombado. O mato está alto, tomando o local.

O aeroporto é a principal porta de entrada do turista, por isso indicarei três opções de se locomover para a cidade.

1- Táxi

Indo do aeroporto ate a cidade o valor normalmente pago é de R$80,00

2- Ônibus especial

Este sai do aeroporto e passa nos principais hotéis da cidade custa custa R$20,00 por pessoa.

3- Ônibus de Linha

Quem faz este percurso de saída do aeroporto são as linhas de n° 306 e 59, fique atento ao ponto final, pois os ônibus vão em direções diferentes. O link descreve o percurso de cada linha, o custa da passagem é de R$2,75.por pessoa.
